151 countries, 18 years of data. Where does it all come from?

All data comes from the World Bank's open database. Government expenditure: Total government expenditure as % of GDP (indicator GC.XPN.TOTL.GD.ZS), covering all spending on goods, services, wages, transfers, and subsidies. Economic growth: GDP growth (annual %, indicator NY.GDP.MKTP.KD.ZG) — real GDP growth in constant local currency. Averages are calculated over user-selected time periods (2005–2023 range). Countries are included only if they have at least 3 years of data in the selected period. The data is fetched live from the World Bank API; a fallback dataset is embedded for offline use.
